Community Development Grants

Community Development Grants are a means used by the United States government and by private institutions to improve the livelihood of all people within a given community. These grants are usually not given to specific individuals, but rather to organizations that express the desire, willingness, and capability to make socio-economic changes within their respective neighborhoods.

On the other side of the coin, if the only reason you want a grant is free money that you don’t have to work for, then please move on, this isn’t for you. Grants are only given to deserving individuals that pass the standards set by the government and/or the institutions which are footing the bill.

Organizations that are the recipients of Community Development grants can be located through online directories. When trying to find one to contact in your area so you can make your application, your best bet would be to start with the official website of the state you’re in. These will feature certified groups that have been the recipient of community development grants, and their contact information. Once you get this information, get in touch with the said groups and make your inquiries about their application procedures.
